Lemons. And they just keep coming.

The past 4 or 5 weeks seem to have been stressful. Like a one-thing-after-another kind of stressful.

First, I bought a new car. New car, used car, its new to me. Yay, not stressful at all, right? Wrong. Said car was missing 2 fairly important features, whilst not being as critical as things like wheels, seats and doors, were important to me and the decision I made as to which car I picked.

The options were: Retro fitting, which we were warned would be messy and the final result would be less than desired. Then there was the “have some cash and all will be well”. Well like I said, they’re important features, to me at least. So third and most obvious, was to source me a car that fits the specification of what I bought. So we went with that.

That was 4 weeks ago. No news. We were warned it could take a while, but no contact at all. I phoned them today, the salesman has gone on holiday…

Meanwhile, my dad falls ill in France with Bacterial Meningitis. The bad one. Rash missed by the doctor. Not once but TWICE. I spent an entire weekend like a zombie expecting the call to say we’d lost him. Fortunately he has recovered, is still recovering, and at this moment in time, he seems fine. The whole family had to have antibiotics. I dropped one of the bottles on the floor and smashed it. Lets also bear in mind that to get said antibiotics was hours and hours of waiting at A&E at a hospital 20 miles (and 35 minutes drive) away. The joy.

[us with my brother, his wife and son at Stoke Mandeville A&E just after midnight, having had to get the kids out of bed in order to get antibiotics]

So all through this I have been dealing with an elevated workload, and butting heads with the Great British public.

So today, just as I feel I am back on top of the public and my workload, I’m at the Post Office and whilst driving away I scrape over 1/2 the length of my car (yes, the one that’s meant to be going back) down another car, which was driving the other way (although she says she was stationary) 2 foot away from the kerb in a very narrow piece of road, which just happens to be a corner.

As a result of all this, I’m feeling a bit fragile today.

Anyone that says these things happen in threes are lying. So my question is just HOW many do they come in? Please tell me it’ll be over soon?
